What are Small Groups?

Small groups are groups of individuals who want to enhance their spiritual growth and connect with others who want the same! Small groups spend time in God’s word, in discussion and conversation. Small Groups even become a support group of sorts. As relationships deepen, correct focus and strength can be gleaned from consistently attending a small Group. We encourage all of our regular attendees to get plugged into a small Group because of the life-changing benefits!

“63% of regular group attenders say they intentionally spend time with other believers in order to help them grow in their faith. Only 22% of those not in a group say the same. And 73% of group attenders say they are intentionally putting their spiritual gifts to use serving God and others, compared to 42% of non-attenders. Churchgoers who belong to a group are more likely to go to church at least four times a month (79%), and to read the Bible daily (28%). Being in a group also impacts people’s daily lives. Group members feel closer to God (69%), understand the Bible better (74%), trust God more (66%), and become more loving in their relationships (48%).”  –https://lifewayresearch.com/2014/06/05/culture-change-recognize-the-value-of-small-groups/

These groups meet at various times during the week. Choose the Small Group that best suites your schedule or try as many as you want and then choose the one that best fits your needs! Anyone can join ANY Small Group at any time!

Small Groups are active in service to the community as well.  Some recent service projects have included helping the Albemarle Food Bank with their food distributions at HBCC, adopting families at Christmas time, providing needed housing items for a family who lost their home in a fire, helping hurricane and tornado victims and volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House.

Small Groups are one of the easiest ways to get plugged in to what’s happening at HBCC, enhance personal spiritual growth and cultivate deeper relationships! We hope you will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to grow, connect and reach out! Feel free to bring your friends and family!

SO….Hope to see YOU soon at a Small Group!!!!!
